Starry Night This Week

Each week most PBS stations air "Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer", the world's first and only weekly TV series on naked-eye astronomy. The Starry Night images on this page illustrate the show for the week of Monday November 10, 2008. You can view the complete show script, or watch a RealPlayer video of the show.

Toward Each Other For A Super Close Meeting!

This week, midnorthern observers can start looking for Venus and Jupiter after sunset in the southwest. Keep an eye on them over the coming weeks as they draw closer together.

They will be at their closest at the end of the month, and on December 1 look for them to be in close company with the crescent Moon.
