Starry Night This Week

Each week most PBS stations air "Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer", the world's first and only weekly TV series on naked-eye astronomy. The Starry Night images on this page illustrate the show for the week of Monday October 22, 2007. You can view the complete show script, or watch a RealPlayer video of the show.

Celebrate Hallowe'en with the Seven Sinister Sisters

Look east at midnight on the evening of October 31st (or the morning of November 1st) to see the non-full Moon and Orion. Use Orion's belt stars to point the way up to the Pleiades.

Point your binoculars at the Seven Sisters and you will find that there are more than seven!
