"There are few experiences as invigorating as being out in the countryside standing under a canopy of star on a still night. Starry Night conveys that feeling better than any other desktop planetarium"
--New York Times

The Venus Challange
Each week most PBS stations air Star Gazer with Jack Horkheimer, the world's first and only weekly TV series on naked-eye astronomy. During the week of Monday, February 21, Star Gazer discusses Venus, the brightest of all the naked eye planets.

The close alignment of a crescent moon, Venus, and the two outer planets Uranus and Neptune in the early morning on March 3. You will be unable to see Uranus and Neptune without the aid of binoculars or a telescope.

Mercury and Venus rise together in the mid-March sky about an hour before the sun, and will be visible in the east to observers with flat horizons.
